Halle Concert – Transforming Lives

Chris Bain (Director of CAFOD) & Lillian McDermott (UCM)

The Halle Choir in action

The evening of 6th March was a joyous celebration of the 50th Lent Fast Day in the Diocese of Salford. To a full capacity audience of CAFOD supporters including the Right Rev Bishop Brain, Bishop of Salford, the Halle Choir gave an inspiring performance of Sacred Music under the baton of Mr Ralph Allwood. We were delighted to share the evening with Chris Bain, Director of CAFOD, and also Mrs Lillian McDermott, who was part of the UCM in Salford in 1960 and remembers the first Lent Fast Day.

St Patrick’s in Collyhurst was a most beautiful venue and lent itself perfectly to the occasion and music. Our sincere thanks to Fr Michael Buckley of St Patrick’s for his kind hospitality and also the many volunteers who worked to make the evening a success. Please feel free to add your comments about the evening and keep in touch about upcoming CAFOD fundraising events such as the Walk in the Park on Sunday April 25th, follow the link for details.
