Children’s Coffee Morning in Darwen

Young people, from St Joseph’s Primary in Darwen, organised a coffee morning for their families and friends to raise money for CAFOD’s work. They had lots of stalls & games and had entertainment for their guests. Some of the children were nervous to begin with but all went well and together they raised £125.81p. A cheque was presented to CAFOD volunteer Mrs Maureen McManus who then delivered a bundle of letters from the children to the CAFOD office in Salford.  In their letters the children showed great understanding and sympathy for those in our world who have much less than them. It all sounded like hard work, but great fun. Well done to all those who took part and those who supported the event especially the teachers and parents. The illustrated letter below was sent into the office by one of the pupils who helped at the successful coffee morning:
