Gtr Manchester 10km Run

Runners from Good Shepherd in Pendle

Our runners did a wonderful job on Sunday running for CAFOD. We had 60 runners who supported by families and friends completed the 10km run. The day was pretty good, light breeze, not too hot and none of that famous Manchester Rain.

Salford Diocese had a strong team from the newly formed parish of the Good Shepherd which included Sacred Heart Colne, Holy Saviour Nelson and Ss Peter and Paul Barrowford. Their parish priest Rev Chris Gorton lead from the front and finished the run in 49min 31sec. Pretty good eh – so there’s a challenge for next year!

Ann Wilson and two of her sons James and John,  from the south of the diocese put in excellent time with both boys  beating his Mum ( did I hear Ann say again!) James did it in 44m 36sec.  John 53min 11sec.  Well done every-one and thanks for your support.

If you would like to join the team next year get your trainers out and begin to practice – go on you know you can do it – and get in touch with Helen at hhinde@cafod.org.uk
