St Mary’s RC Primary in Oswaldtwistle near Accrington received a big thank you for their fantastic fundraising efforts for the Haiti Appeal. Fred Uttley, a CAFOD Salford schools volunteer, visited the school during the summer term to thank the pupils, staff and parents for their terrific fundraising which raised £250.00 for the Haiti Emergency Appeal.
In January this year the devastating earthquake in Port-au-Prince killed an estimated 250,ooo people and millions were left homeless. The money the pupils raised will go a long way towards helping the people in Haiti, who are still rebuilding their lives. Without the generous help of schools like St Mary’s in Oswaldtwistle CAFOD would be unable to help the people of Haiti or other countries like Pakistan, which is dominating the news at the moment. So once again, thank you St Mary’s!
