CAFOD Harvest Fast Day at St John’s Cathedral

Children from Diocesan Schools with Fr Sudlow show off their work

Once again, CAFOD Salford celebrated Harvest Fast Day on Friday 1st October with Mass at the Cathedral Church of St John the Evangelist in Salford. Mass was followed by a delicious soup lunch and some tasty beans on toast for the children who attended. Donations were collected for the lunch and these will form part of the Harvest Fast Day collection.

Fr Anthony Sudlow was the celebrant and several diocesan primary schools and one secondary school had pupils who attended. Pupils from St Joseph’s RC Primary, Todmorden, Mount Carmel and St John Bosco RC Primaries, Blackley, and Loreto RC High School of Chorlton-cum-Hardy took part in the Mass, helping with the readings, offertory and bidding prayers.

A big thanks to everybody who attended and especially the pupils and teachers who travelled from near and far to be at the Cathedral Fast Day Mass. A very special thanks to the ladies of the cathedral who provided, yet again, a very tasty soup lunch and beans on toast.
