“Lunch is Served”

The members of the Catholic Women’s League, Heatons’ Section, Stockport, decided to have a “Bread and Soup” lunch to raise funds for CAFOD. This took place on Friday 9th of March 2012 at the Kavanagh Centre, St Winifred’s Church, Heaton Mersey.
The members had arranged the tables in the hall for groups of 4 or 8 people, each table laid with cutlery and serviettes, and the ladies were on hand to greet customers, take their coats and show them to their tables. There was a choice of 6 different types of soup, which was served with a variety of bread rolls and butter. To top it up, teas and coffees were served too.

It was a very sociable occasion, with about 30 to 40 people turning up and as a result £250.50 was raised and sent to CAFOD.
