Clare Secombe and Frances Taylor, two teachers at St John’s RC Primary, Chorlton, recently delivered an assembly to their pupils to share with them their experiences and insights about a recent trip to Brazil. The two members of staff had taken part in the Going Global course organised by CAFOD Salford and CAFOD Lancaster over a period of eight months. After the course finished earlier this year they had the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in Brazil, guided by Joe Howson, looking at CAFOD funded projects in Rio de Janeiro.
During the assembly the pupils of St John’s learned about children living in the favelas and were particularly interested in seeing photos of their teachers sleeping in hammocks. Let’s hope they didn’t fall out!
