First CAFOD Emmaus Meal

Emmaus Meal

On March 6th in St Catherines Community Centre parishioners from St Bernards Burnage and St Catherine of Siena Didsbury attended an evening of reflection and shared food together.

After a powerpoint reflection and the Emmaus Gospel reading, the group divided into 4 groups for discussion, based on stories from our partners and their own experiences.

The whole group then broke bread and passed this round. Each person spoke a word, phrase or reflection that had struck them from the discussion.

We then ate together. We can recommend the recipes in the Emmaus Meal resource! Potato curry and Sukuma wiki a Kenyan cabbage dish.

Before the final prayer we looked at how we could be further involved through prayer, campaign action or looking at our own lives. An excellent evening!
