School children get caught grafting for the right reasons… IF Campaign

Twenty school children from KD Grammar for Boys and Manchester Islamic High School for Girls came together in Piccadilly Gardens on Friday April 26th to show their support with Human Appeal. They wanted to make a stance with the ‘IF Campaign’ and highlight the issue of global hunger. The eager bunch of children expressed their artistic flare by drawing an IF on the ground opposite the Queen Victoria Statue in Central Manchester.
The children used chalk to draw the colourful logo on the ground and supported it with brightly coloured umbrellas to raise a lot of attention on the sunny day!
Nearly one billion people go to bed hungry every night and two million children die from malnutrition every year. We’ve made progress in other areas, but hunger is still a real issue.
All around the world, even in the UK, people are struggling to feed their families. In June, the world’s most powerful leaders will meet in the UK at the G8, this is our best opportunity to tackle hunger and hence we want 2013 to mark the beginning of the end to global hunger.
Human Appeal believes that we have the power to educate our communities to become ‘action’ orientated and understand the responsibilities we have on our global population. If we change our own lifestyle choices, we can change the way future generations think about their lives.
