‘Hungry for Change’ Walk and Picnic at Chadderton Park: CAT East

A huge thank you to all who supported the CAFOD Salford East Action Team “Hungry for Change” Walk and Picnic at Chadderton Park on 15 September. An impressive 89 of you braved the dismal weather and took the Walk around the Park, armed with colourful umbrellas and water-proof jackets. Thank you also to Mike Cumiskey of the Park’s Pavilion Cafe for their support and generous donation.
In addition to the £550 raised on the day by walkers from the Catholic community of Oldham and Rochdale, we continued to receive donations throughout the week, including from the Terence O’Grady Club and various parishes. This brought the total raised to £697.
CAT East member Barry King was very happy with the event’s success: “We were really delighted with this fantastic response from local parishes in Oldham and Rochdale.  It was a great turnout and shows how much people care about changing the food system around the world so it is fair for all.”
So once again thank you, and well done!
