The CAFOD group at Brownedge Saint Mary’s High School have been very busy since September supporting CAFOD in many ways. Here is their update:
We celebrated the CAFOD Harvest Fast Day, ran two CAFOD cafes (selling home made cakes and Fairtrade products), played CAFOD style bingo (with a World Gifts prize!), and even a dry cornflake eating challenge (thanks to Mr Lin, Miss Gaffney and Mr Whybro for enduring two bowls and congratulations to Miss Gaffney for winning!). James in Year 8 said, “The best part so far was the cafe and bingo. We hope to keep raising more money and doing more in the future.”
We have loved presenting CAFOD assemblies and running prayer sessions, playing the “climate change game” and generally promoting the work of CAFOD. Some members of the group enjoyed attending a CAFOD supporters day at St Paul’s High School in Wythenshawe where they met pupils from other schools who support CAFOD, learnt about some of the projects in Guatemala and enjoyed playing the Fairtrade chocolate game!
The group here try their hardest to pray, act and give to support CAFOD to their full ability. We are looking forward to doing more next term!
Thanks to everyone for all their support and prayers,
The CAFOD group at Brownedge
A big thank you to the CAFOD group, pupils and staff of Brownedge St Mary’s in Bamber Bridge for the fantastic fundraising, campaigning and praying.
