CAFOD Rep from Zambia to speak in Diocese – Thursday 13th July

Florence from Zambia who turned little fish into big fish and was the focus for Lent 2017.

CAFOD Salford is delighted to be hosting the visit of Mwila Malumbi, our representative in Zambia – who oversees Sr Yvonne’s ‘Big Fish’ project which helped Florence pictured above and others like her.

This will be a great opportunity for us to find out about some of the projects Mwila is involved with and for her to find out what our supporters and volunteers do here in Salford, that enables her team to do such brilliant work with our partners on our behalf.

Our Country Representatives work alongside our partners to develop and deliver a wide range of programmes that are having a massive and sustainable impact in their countries. Mwila runs programmes in the areas of :

• Livelihoods, Resilience & Environment
• Capacity Strengthening
• Governance, Accountability & Transparency
• Peace & Reconciliation
• Emergency Preparedness, Response & Recovery

The local MP for Pendle, Andrew Stephenson, has been invited to attend – for him to be better informed about CAFOD’s work and the efforts of local volunteers. By attending he may be better informed of CAFOD’s work, the importance of protecting the 0.7% International Aid budget, the work of our supporters and volunteers and CAFOD’s ‘Power To Be’ campaign.

Our opportunity to meet the Country Rep will take place at Sacred Heart Church, in the parish of ‘The Good Shepherd’, Colne:

Thursday 13th July
